What we offer

We offer a range value-adding services tailored to your requirements. In our state-of-the-art Class 2 laboratories we can process material and provide the following services:

Pooling

Pooling

Require a larger bulk volume for your testing? We can pool serum, plasma, and urine samples from multiple individuals into a single batch.

One of our pooling approaches is to produce a mini-pool for the customer to evaluate a representative sample before producing the final pooled batch. This allows evaluation of the pool to ensure it is suitable.

Defibrination

Defibrinated Plasma

We remove fibrin from plasma by processing using thrombin followed by filtration and are currently able to defibrinate up to 1 litre volume of plasma per run. Should you require larger volumes please let us know and we can work with you.

Filtering

Filtered Plasma and Serum

We can filter serum and plasma to 0.2 µm. This removes cellular components, potential interferents, and other particulate matter, leaving behind a contaminant-free liquid that can be more easily analysed or utilized in various protocols.

Heat inactivation

Heat Inactivation

Heat inactivation of our biospecimens at 56°C for 30 minutes minimises the risks of handling biological materials and renders them safe to process as routine diagnostic samples using standard laboratory precautions. This is particularly suitable for SARS-CoV-2 material.

Bioburden testing

Bioburden Testing

Bioburden testing can be performed on request to determine the microbiological quality of donor material such as serum or plasma. This is often performed on material post processing such as pooling or defibrination.

Prospective Collections

If you have need to collect materials to a specification, it is likely we can support your project. This could be for the purpose of generating data to meet regulatory submissions, or to enable you to understand the progression of a disease or the effects of a specific intervention over time. This approach not only ensures the relevance and accuracy of the collected samples but also helps in generating more robust and reliable data for research and analysis.

Examples of previous collections can be found on the disease category pages on the website or by downloading our capabilities brochure.
